People of Raitla village on Friday staged a demonstrationagainst poor quality of material used in the construction of road from MandirGala to Tarkassi.
The locals assembled at Raitla village and blocked the roadfor over two hours. They were raising slogans against the PMGSY and claimingthat the department has been compromising with the quality of material used inthe blacktopping of the road.
According to them, the concerned engineers who have beenasked to supervise the road work properly hardly visit the road to ensurewhether proper quality material is used to blacktop the road.
Due to the protest of the locals, vehicular traffic on theroad remained affected for over two hours.
Later, a police team from local police station reached thespot and pacified the protest by assuring them that their demands would bettaken up with the concerned ups.
