People feel let-down by BJP in Jammu whom they voted to power: J&K Apni Party

Stating that theBharatiya Janta Party(BJP) has cheated people of Jammu region by defining the domicile laws notfavorable to them, J&K Apni Party has accused the Union Government ofreducing status of people to “fourth class who voted them to power in assemblyas well as parliamentary polls”

“The honour ofpeople of Jammu has been compromised and downgraded by the leaders who claimedto be the champion for the cause their case in the region. BJP climbedpolitical ladder rising voice against discrimination with the people of thisregion. They  ended up doing same disparity with the people who gave thempower to rule the country,” said J&K Apni Party leaders, Manjit Singh andVikram Malhotra in a statement issued here.

   

Both the leaderspledged that they will fight for the cause of Jammuities and invited all thepolitical parties’ leaders including BJP to come on one platform to fight forthe cause to restore lost honour.

 “Right of ouryouth on Government jobs has been snatched and given to outsiders despiteknowing how our youth get education in troubling times of militancy andfrequent border disturbance in Jammu and Kashmir,” they said.

They alleged thatthe people of Jammu were hurt when they were “reserved for class fourth jobs”.”Dogras have 200 years old proud history. We will not compromise out the rightsof the people,” they said.

“It took sevenmonths to all other political parties to raise their voice, that too, onlyyesterday, when Apni Party leaders were frequently pressing for strong domicilefor the people of Jammu and Kashmir with all rights reserved like in all levelsof Government jobs, and protection of land,” the leaders said.

The duo said BJPleaders “who are feeling suffocated because of anti-Jammu policies in the stateunit must come out and join Apni Party so that the lost honour of the Jammu andKashmir can be restored,”

“Jammu peoplealways trusted BJP as their voice and voted them in assembly and parliamentaryelections. However, same feeling cheated by the Central Government because noone will go to Kashmir valley amid current situation, while Jammu will face theburden of new domicile laws,” they said.

The J&K ApniParty leaders expressed serious concern for neglecting the rights of Jammu andKashmir’s unemployed youth on “gazetted as well as non-gazetted Government jobsin the Union Territory.”

They said that “they reject the notification, which has failed to address and acknowledge issueof the people in the Union Territory especially in Jammu despite assurances.”

They said people inJ&K expected protection in all type of jobs, and right on land, but it wasnot given. “Our children remain disturbed since last thirty years. The borderswith Pakistan i.e. International Border or Line of Control continue to remaindisrupted. Hence, there were expectations from the Union Government to extendhelping hands,” they said.

“Exclusive rightson gazetted, non-gazetted, and all other type of Government jobs, professionaleducational institution, and land protection rights were projected before theUnion Government time and again,” they said. They also raised question mark 15 years ofperiod to confirm anyone as domicile in Jammu and Kashmir.

“It is must to haveminimum of 25 years of stay period in Jammu and Kashmir to confirm anyone asdomicile. The rights of Jammu will not be allowed to be compromised at anycost. We will fight for the rights which have not been accepted/protected bythe Government,” both the leaders said.

J&K Apni Party,leaders alleged that the Government did not consult them or other stake holdersof Jammu and Kashmir before releasing the notification.

“People of Jammuwill not tolerate further discrimination. Our honour must be restored,” theywarned.Prominentleaders of the J&K Apni Party in Jammu include woman wing senior leaderNamrata Sharma, student leader Raqeeq Khan, Schedule Cast (SC) leader Bodh RajBhagat, OBC leader Madan Lal Chalotra, and President of Contractor’sAssociation, Narinder Gupta (Bitta).
