Senior Billiards Championship: Sohail Khalid continues dominance, lifts senior title

Sohail Khalid of Forest Department continued his dominance in the billiards arena of J&K as he went on to win his eight consecutive State billiards title at Jammu on Friday.

In the final of the State Senior Billiards championship, organised by Jammu and Kashmir Billiards and Snooker Association at Billiards Hall, MA Stadium, Sohail defeated Nikhil Kapahi.

   

In the final, Sohail completely dominated the game as he went on to win match by 3-0 sets with scores of 100-97, 103-67 and 100-92. With this win, Sohail lifted the senior title for the eighth straight time. 

Sohail has dominated the billiards arena at State, District and other levels in State from last many years. Apart from that he has also won around 25 gold medals for his department in various events including All India Forest Meet.

Earlier in the semifinal, Sohail Khalid had defeated Ishan Choudhary (3-0) by 100-40, 100-68, 100-85.

“Happy to win it again and keep the trend going. This time there was stiff competition but still, managed to win it. It takes lot of practice and hard work to keep playing at top level,” Khalid said.

“I am now looking for forward to All India Forest Meet and will try my best again to win gold medal for my department and State in the championship,” he added.
